CLUE is excited to begin our first ministudies! Primary CLUEsters are becoming petrologists in a study of rocks. We are learning about the different types of rocks and their many uses. We plan to explore how rocks and minerals are part our everyday lives. Intermediate CLUEsters are beginning a study of cryptology—the study of codes, ciphers, and glyphs. We will be reading “The Gold Bug” by Edgar Allan Poe and analyzing the codes in the story. We will also go on a treasure hunt based on codes. Lastly, both CLUE classes will be taking a trip to Antarctica! We have designed post cards to send with Alex Ellers as she goes to Antarctica to study Weddell seals. We will each receive our own card with a post mark from Antarctica. We are also tracking how many minutes we work our bodies with physical exercise and our brains with science. Each class hopes to earn a combined total of 8764 minutes of brain/body workouts this school year. Watch for further updates and follow Alex's adventure at http://antarcticarevisited.com/antarctica/antarctica
